Experience Ratings are based on the general music skills found in each OSFABB arrangement and how those music skills compare to a course of study found in most band method books. The music rating number is about how long it takes the average music student to achieve the skills to play a certain OSFABB Music arrangement.
Depending on the band situation at your school and how quickly you move through your band book the ratings may seem a little high or low.
Ratings are generally, but not always, based on the most difficult music elements found in each OSFABB arrangement.
Music Elements include: Range of Notes(high or Low), Rhythms, Accidentals, Key Signatures and Time Signatures.
