OSFABB song of the month for April 2017 is “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows”.  The song, written in 1917, is based on part of the piano piece “Fantasie Inpromtu” by Frederic Chopin.  The music for “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows”  was written by Harry Carroll and the lyrics by Joseph McCarthy.  It was used in a musical at the time called “The Dolly Sisters”.  This popular song is really more about the genius of Chopin and how he could use his vast talent to create a touching enduring musical piece.
