“You Made Me Love You (I didn’t want to do it)” is the OSFABB song of the month for February 2017.  It’s sort of a Valentine thing.  Written in 1913 It still retains a lot of charm and has been done and redone numerous times over the years.  We have tried to stay a close as possible to the original as the harmonic structures are pretty interesting. We have made only slight changes in the melody.  It has a 2.5 Experience rating due largely to the range (an octave and a third) and some really odd syncopation figures.  But you can use whatever syncopation figures you want.  Go a head.  Break some rules. It should, however, be played with swing 8ths.  Also it might be fun to offer solo opportunities to students for the parenthetical music phrases (I didn’t want to do it, I didn’t want to do it).  Could be fun.  Anyway Happy V-Day.  Keep warm.  Don’t eat too many candy hearts.
